How does it work?
The principle of the rotor is that it allows 4 strokes to occur in 360 rotation doubling the amount of power strokes in either 4 stroke or 2 stroke.
This means that in the 2 cylinder, horizontally opposed format, the 4 stroke produces 2 pulses per revolution and the 2 stroke 4 pulses per revolution.
The rotor is perfectly balanced. The pistons are horizontally opposed and counter balancing each other. The simultaneous firing sequence complements the opposing pistons to maintaining a near perfect balance factor. These features contribute to an engine producing over double the torque per revolution (as compared with a standard 4 stroke crank engine) with turbine smooth power.
The lack of vibration can be clearly demonstrated as during the bench tests (where the engine was rigidly mounted) a 50 pence coin could stand upright on the engine when running.
